GSXR front end - caliper pinch bolt size?
 

Hi again all,

Another question for those with gSXR front ends, for my front end swap, want to replace the 4 pinch bolts in each of my GSXR K2 600 calipers for stainless ones to make them look smarter.

Anyone know the size of these bolts???

Thinking of just buying a pack of stainless bolts like the below as its much cheaper and they will always be handy to have in the garage, but want to get a tub that has the right size for these caliper bolts also.

The answer M8 x 40mm

Yup, sounds right. Same guy I got mine from in fact- good fast delivery but he'll overcharge you on postage ;)

Cheers mate, think I went for the most useful tub the 400+ M5, 6 and 8 bolts, nuts and washers.

Will the M8x40mm from this guy fit the calipers do you know (I know they need that smooth shoulder before the thread starts), did you put them on your calipers?

Just remember to check the pitch of the thread, structural stuff sometimes uses a finer pitch than standard - its easy to get it wrong and wreck the female thread!

I've not come across an M8 or M6 on the SV that isn't standard pitch though. The M10s vary randomly.

I can't remember what size you need for the calipers. I don't think it's M8 x 40 though. I had to buy extras, didn't get enough in the mixed bag but I got a couple the right size. Remind me about this and I can check ;)
