Metzeler MEZ4 Tyres. How are these?
I got a puncture in my rear D220 (I think - stock K5) today and I don't have the money to splash out on lovely Z6's just yet, I've got the chance to buy a used set of Metzeler MEZ4 that have done 1000miles and have 4mm left on both tyres. How do these compare to my stock tyres? How much would I be looking to get these fitted and balanced?

DONT DO IT...Horrid horrid tyres. That is all
Just get the puncture repaired. |
My dad had a set of the Metz4 on his old bike, and he thought they were ok for what he wanted the bike to do, ie not thrash it or ride in the wet a great deal...
After all he is 70 now.. I had a ride on it with the said z4's and thought they were just as average as the D220's. HTH  |

ace news.
u cant beat a nice plug ! |
Z4s and D220s are pretty similiar really... Personally I'd never put either on a bike of mine, but if you don't find the D220s to be a problem you should be OK with Z4s too.

Please read the text below fully before drawing a conclusion.
Well I think the MEZ4's are a marvel of engineering no really, they are durable, grippy, excellent value for money, work well in the wet, easily attached, light weight and tuff. We are of course talking about their use as fenders on a narrow boat  no one would do anything as silly as to fit them to a motorcycle  (well apart from Suzuki that is :? ) Cheers Mark. |
LOL Rictus- had me goin there
