(Un)Welcome Gazer
Some oldish dude has just been giving my bike a good looking over in the car park at work. Not sure if I should be happy that I have such an attractive ride or worried about a possible future theft. Am I being paranoid and over cautious? Discuss!!

I would say paranoid. You have a few mods to the bike, he is just curious.
Thieves just usually rob stuff fast and scarper. TBH, I think the SV650 is not a super attractive bike to rob. At least over here. There are plenty of flashier bikes, that you can part and shift in a second, faster than the SV. And, robbing one bike is more or less as easy as the next. I dunno. Thats the logic I use. Along with, if they really want to rob it, they will rob it. If you are really anxious, you can get these plastic coated steel cables, with loops in the end, and you can lassoo (??) the bike onto something. It might slow them down... Or, put it somewhere where its really awkward to pick up / back a van into. |
I guess that you're just being paranoid. I often look at the bikes in the company car park, sometimes examining them closely - just because I like bikes. Maybe he's thinking of buying one, or just stopped to admire it.

Old boy looking at your bike?
Watch out, if he sees you getting onto it he'll approach and regale you with tales of the Triumph/Norton/BSA he had 40 years ago. Seriously though, why not go and have a chat with him, he's probably just admiring it. I know sometimes I must look suspicious looking at parked bikes for a couple of minutes. If it has trick parts on it, I'll often look very closely, crouching down to see the undertray, etc. |

Just what I was thinking! Nutty x |
i wondered why the security guy of the building next door was always waving at me. First time i spoke to him he seemed quite grump.
Turns out he's seen me (ok heard me) on the bike in the shared car park and he's the guy i see leaving everyday on his Gold chair. |
He's going to nick it. Get in their first with the rugby tackle and then **** him over the head with a wet kipper.
Go on son!!! Or maybe he's just a bit cenile and thinks he left his penny farthing in the same place....."Coo eck I don't remember 'avin these new fangled bits on me pushcycle". |
