False Neutrals

My bike has been getting false neutrals, usually on the up-shift from 3rd to 4th when I give it some. It's only started this week and it's really getting annoying having it revving about uncontrollably at high speed!

Is it something which has happened to anyone else, if so, how do I stop it happening? thanks, Laurence.

Ive had this happen to me quite a bit lately, but I think its more user error than mechanical! Im just not kicking the gear lever up enough when trying to do quick changes.

Same thing here! Really annoying when I go to overtake and dont find a gear.

Had my bike few months and it only started since last weekend really, again only happens when I hammer it.

I get it when I have a slack chain.

Also I found putting a little load onto the gear lever before changing gear helped as well.

Had that a while ago just after I had changed the oil, but after a while it didnt do it, have you done anything like that on the bike recently?

Slack chain or too tight maybe?
I also found that adjust your gearlever down significantly feels a lot more comfortable and give you a better range of movement to get the gears positively.

I used to get it a bit, though it was more that it popped out of gear when going up the box under hard power. But no more since i fitted a Factory Pro detent spring- it's just a stiffer spring in the selector mechanism. But tbh, the fix is almost certainly to use a bit more left boot.

yep i have also had this problem rather embarrassing when you are overtaking some Chav's in a nova so i just try and kick up harder when thrashing it.

well, you have this-

ll---ll-ll-ll-ll-ll
1---2-3-4-5-6

if you dont move it far enough one way or the other..... IT SPINS!!!

The classic is first to second... but it can feasibly happen between any.

Just kick it all the way before letting the clutch go!!!! 8)

Hello. I have been having this problem lately, since 4000 miles (now at 5500 miles). At first I put it down to user error (i.e I am not exactly mr super bike rider), but today for the 1st time the bike jumped out of gear when I wasn't even changing gear at the time, while in 4th (I think) and I was just nailing it at around 6-8k rpm (can't recall exactly). What could be causing this? I have a right mind to land my bike to the dealer in the morning and ask them to sort it as it is not even a year old!

Thank you
