my first service
Finally got around to doing my 4000 mile service. borrowed a socket set....was really easy :D :D :D
only one girly moment..... was making sure that i had put enough oil in and held the bike upright so bf could take a look (we had been arguing about how much to put in....p.s. i was right  ) Unknown to me he had taken the filler cap off, and i fired the bike up..... an oil fountain launched into his face      serves him right for daring to think i was wrong!!!! Think the bike needs a wash now though :( |
Hahahahahaha!
I thought you were going to tell me of the other favourite 'oil **** up'. As in: 1) Pour expensive fully synthetic oil into filler hole. 2) Watch as it falls onto floor through drain hole without plug in it, plug on bench just out of reach. PS So I've heard anyway. :-dd |
Well done Jen! Bloody fellas...a nuisance aren't they? :P

I've had the one where you do the oil change and everything else, then take the bike for a quick blast, having forgotten to reconnect the crankcase breathers, resulting in a mess. Although mine used to weep oil for a passtime anyway.
Actually, tbh, I seem to remember the oil forever trying to make a bid for freedom from my SV. There was the time the front sprocket nut came loose, resulting in most of the contents of the sump ending up over the rear tyre (that was a fun ride to work  ), and numerous other occasions, many caused by my own stupidity. The rear shock, not to be outdone, also emptied its contents on one occasion as well (on a particularly famous architects' driveway). You live and sometimes learn.... MT |
