Where do you shop...

...for cheap online bike goods like helmets, paddock stands, etc, etc. :?:

All over to be honest, however, i brought my 1st paddock satnd from Carnells about oooo 6 years ago, the front from the Gems show about the same time, lids form bike shows, all other stuff, busters and suchlike. Im a bit iffy about having lids delivered. I have seen what couriers, and parcel farce do with boxes no matter whats in them. Id choose J&S as a 1st port of call.

Personally i like J & S and Hein Gericke.

Both have good gear that won't ruin your pocket.

I buy a lot of stuff on Ebay... I prefer to shop locally, but it just doesn't work sometimes.

Having bought on line I doubt that I ever would again.

Lids have to be tried. simple as that. The same size in two different makes is totally different.

I must be a funny size. I tried my leathers at J&S and bought elsewhere on line. although there was £100 saving. and they fit snuggly in the beer barrel area. I am afraid they lack space for the man bits are threfore extreamly uncomfortable.

Boots were the biggest disappointment. I bought cheapo raven waterproof and whilst great as a back to biking boot. the zip fobs snapped within about 5 weeks. replaced by a bit of welding rod. Then the zips themselves failed after about 14 month.

Biggest issue with online was the strange euro sizing. I work in feet & inches. my neck is the biggest part in that I would take an 18" collar but only a 44 chest so even jackets can be funny.

So I guess it is J&S as first port of call in future

I have to admit, I'm quite guilty of trying stuff in shops or at shows, then buying online. But I'm careful to do it in shops that don't deserve my cash ;)

Nods ;)

Really though, its not the online experience that is letting you down, just the poor quality products that you are buying ;) But then you are from Yorkshire  (only jesting tim me old mucker)

Local dealer or somewhere I can try stuff on for lids etc etc.

The guys in my local shop are great. Liz's XR1000 was priced at £300 one website and £330 in the shop. Liz tried it on and it was a good fit and the guy I deal matched the price. Also they over charged me for my leather jacket and when he realised what he had done he gave me a refund to the tune of £80.

I buy from these guys but I don't buy online as they're just round the corner from me.

Is that because when you bought your waterproof oversuit the vendor was allowed to choose the colour*? :P

That few bits of kit I've bought have been Ride mag best-buys or recommended stuff but have got 'em off ebay.

*if anyone has a piccy please post it again
