i went to the nurburgring last weekend
 

...and it's great fun! good trip over there too, long long long straight motorways - saw 140 on the speedo once only, 138 once, 137 twice, 133-135 loads of times (can you tell i was trying :wink: ) could probably get a couple of miles over, so say 142, but it would take forever...(actually it takes forever over 125 anyway haha)

went round the ring itself 3 times, did a bit of cross country :shock: and got away with it through luck more than judgement, bought myself a ring sticker for the bike :D

anyone else here been?

I have, but I was in my Lorry :D I used to deliver Nissans and Jaguars for testing there. I did a lap at 56 mph :D

nice! i've seen the coach going round, i guess it was similar to that :P

I'm going in roughly about two weeks, six days and 22 hours.

I'm planning the same with friends, did you do it over a weekend?

Can you suggest a place to stay if so?

Still the funniest thing i saw go round the ring, was that german bird in a ford transit on Top Gear.

we left on a thursday morning, came back sunday afternoon....

stayed at a place called the 'etap hotel' in koblenz (i think that's the correct spelling) about 20 ish miles away from the ring - cheap and cheerful! it was £60 for 3 nights sharing a room with a mate (there was about 20 of us so all divided up into pairs).

not sure how experienced you are - i wasn't in the slightest! - but friday during the day is quiet, saturday is busy! and that was with the germany game on so actually quieter than usual....i wouldn't go on, on saturday.

Ha ha. Thats right. Didnt she beat Clarkeson driving something quite respectable as well?

He was driving diesel S class Jag. She pased quite a few bikes as well. Imagine the embarrassment! :oops:
