Just painted my brake disc carriers.....
.....with HT paint and baked them in the oven at 80c, will this warp the discs? I am letting them cool slowly in the oven with the door open :?
and does HT paint 'buff' at all, I mean they're matt at the mo but will i get some sort of satin finish to them? |
Can I ask why you did this and, more to the point, why you did it without checking if they'd warp first?
|
I wanted black carriers to match my black wheels when they come back from the coaters 8)

Brake disks are made to get hot, but I'm not sure about 80c. One way to find out...
|
Well they've not warped (I did let them cool slowly in the oven) and they're losing the matt finish
I just hope the finish lasts long enough  |
I just used plastikote paint on my disks, its fine unless someone realy wants to chip it off, did not realy have to use HT paint as the inner rotor does not get realy hot like solid disks.

You could havedone them red and made it look like a Ferrari, or a chavs Nova :P
I dont think baking them in a paint oven will hurt as they get alot hooter than that with normal everyday use |
