Please can someone explain to me why I chose this afternoon, the hottest day of the year here in Cardiff, to take down a rose tree?

I thought it would be OK, lots of nice shade, won't take long.......that's until about half way through when I realised that it was the rose tree that was providing the shade ](*,)

By then it was too late as I'd gone and "Done a Wilky", i.e. blocked the garage doors where my bike is stored with bits of felled rose ](*,)

Had to finish coz I want to go for a ride early tomorrow morning while the air is still cool....... Swept the drive three times to make sure there were no thorns left to puncture my bike's tyres.

I'm confident that at the end I was the only ***** left on the drive ](*,)

Going for a bath to soak all the scratches :roll:

I have some spare red carpet in the garage...........do you think neighbours might think it a tad pretentious, notwithstanding the fact that my bike is absolutely gorgeous? :wink:
