my shiny helmet

was just walknig with it swinging nonchalantly by my side when I dropped it: About 2 feet onto carpet. It went "Thunk"

In your humble opinions: Do I need to get a new one or is it probbly fine. Just bought it last month as my old shoie got nicked.

Aaah.....how you young boys love a nice shiny helmet - and we girls like to see them! I know that M65 and Coombest spend lots of time polishing theirs, but a word of warning: polishing the helmet is good, but if you bash it too often (I see little Patrick does that regularly) it can cause problems in later years, so that it doesn't work when you need it most.

It's not my head, but I wouldn't replace it. A bigger drop onto a hard surface, maybe, but since there's no weight in the lid it does need to hit fairly hard to be likely to cause damage. But, in the end it's your choice.

how can you be sure the proctetion inside the lid hasn't been damaged?

FWIW 2 feet onto a carpet ought to be fine

Is it an Arai? If it is you can send it back to them and they'll check it out.
