Old Thread....Nurburgring 2007 (& Eurotour)

I have decided to do this thread earlier than last year as I'm hoping (depending on response) to make it a longer trip.

Ok. first of all no dates will be confirmed until around the end of February next year as the Nurburgring don't confirm dates till then, but it will more than likely be happening in July/August.

The plan will be as follows. (it isn't concrete and is adaptable as to what people want to do).
Saturday - Make our way to the Ardennes from England
(yes it's a long trip but it's better to get it done in one slog and out of the way)
Sunday - Local roads visit Battle of the Bulge places.
Monday - Another lot of local roads.
Tuesday - Trackday at Spa-Francorchamps (For those who want)
Wednesday - Nurburgring (and laps for those who want)
Thursday - Make our way down into France near to Switzerland (yep another long day :? )
Friday - ride some mountain passes into Switzerland and finsh the day in Italy.
Saturday - Make our way back into France and up towards Troyes.
Sunday- Up to Calais for a crossing into England and then home.

Only a rough sketch at the moment and it will need the right dates to fall into place.
All suggestions welcome.
When dates are confirmed I'll start asking for deposits/confirmations.

(admins can you make this a sticky?)

for sure
will also have had a bit more experience with the track also if any of you want to brake up the motorway miles they can stay down here before leaving and when returning

Jesus Rich! My knee's still aching from the last trip. :D

Sounds like a good plan, count me in.
Lurcher's idea about the overnight ferry sounds good tho, the motorway miles were worth it but a bit of a slog. Suppose it depends where you're coming from.

Quiff, don't worry about your riding, we're all safe riders and out on the 'ring the instructor goes to the pace of the slowest rider so no one gets left behind.

Sounds quality, count me in! :D

Depending on how both health & job (and therefore money) pan out I may have to start saving now...

... but hell yeah. I'm in.

I had a week long biking holiday this year - if I dont take Mrs Skip away then I will be in big trouble! Would love to say yes, but depends on money situation really....

That was my first thought this year - I've never biked (or even driven) abroad, only done the one track day (Suzuki Race School, so not even my bike & Mallory's a tiny track) and the longest single trip I'd ever done was about 300 miles!

Now I'm back I wonder what I was worried about.

C'mon. Y'know you want to.
