tapping when my bike got hot

I was riding home and my bike was a lot hotter than normal due to the weather (about 98degrees. I know that isnt bad but I noticed that at low rev's there is a tapping from the enginer that isnt normallt there.... Is this normal.. I normally dont take any notice of the SV's general knocking and stuff but I just thought I would ask the question. Oil is good, full of petrol etc.
