Transmission Whine

:?: New to SVs But not to bikes and their internals ( over 30 years of riding and modifying), My recently acquired, and immaculate 01 model ( 8500 miles), has in my opinion, rather excessive transmission whine - Bad in 5th , even worse in 6th . Chain fine, alignment fine, new oil. - do not know if this is normal as am more used to large and Italian ( Drive-line pretty sloppy too, but I've found this often on jap bikes ) Any comments ?
Beginning to love this wee V , lovely motor , will be even more lovely after I raise the needles and fill in the gaping hole between 4&5 - already fitted Aprapovic system probably the reason. Cheers. :?

I have a fair amount of transmission whine in first, and a little in second, but that's it, every other gear is fine. Haven't heard of transmission whine being a big problem with SVs.

People who listen to 'Gong' are rarely "bovvered" about anything ( 1976 , 50p in Virgin, before Branson could grow a beard )

Thanks for the re-assurance , will let you all know when it blows , Hope phone works from the bottom of a ditch.
