Someone on here wrote a simple but excellent little programme that allowed you to adjust gear ratios/sprockets etc and tell you the exact (theoretical) mph. If no-one has a link to it, I'll upload the programme and link to it myself.

Same please for Pointy 12k revs in third standard sprockets.
Just out of interest :-dd Edit: IIRC 4th is 1k per 10mph, 6th is 1k per 13 mph but don't have a gear lever to try any others assuming it's 1.5 mph per gear that would answer my question at 102. |

I'll answer my own question then .. using the ratios from haynes:

gear / speed: 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th rpm 1,000 5 7 9 11 13 14 2,000 10 14 18 22 25 29 3,000 15 21 27 33 38 43 4,000 20 28 35 44 51 57 5,000 25 34 44 54 64 72 6,000 30 41 53 65 76 86 7,000 35 48 62 76 89 101 8,000 40 55 71 87 102 115 9,000 45 62 80 98 115 129 10,000 50 69 89 109 127 144 10,500 52 72 93 114 134 151
|
So a curvy is definitely overgeared then regarding top speed...10.5 k in 6th = 151 mph.
Anyone with a tuned bike ever got near to flat out in 6th on standard gearing? |

76mph in 1st 104mph in 2nd To damn fast to look in the rest of the gears! |
