Front Fork Setup

The original topic must have been lost in the great crash this week!

Me: 14 1/2 stone
Bike: 2001 650s (Cuvy)

Got myself a set of later, adjustable forks.

Any help/ideas on the settings for them?

Cheers.

Rictus gave me advice but it's gone to the lost topic heaven!

I do believe he pointed out that all you can adjust is spring preload, which isn't going to do an awful lot for you. Look up "static sag" in google and you'll probably find some good links.

And then I said to replace them ;)

Cheers Northy!

I can't replace them yet! I need to get back to work to get the money together for a nice gixxer 750 setup!!

Get some racetech 80 springs, emulators and 15w oil. Then set the sag as mentioned above.

It'll transform the front end.

He's right you know. To get the best out of a GSXR front end it'd want respring and revalved to your weight as well, btw.

Hope you got the axle, front wheel and discs to go with them otherwise they won't be much use!

Think it's K2 forks he picked up.
