Thinking of defecting!

Guys thinking of defecting and buying a 2003 Aprillia Tuono.

Much as I love my GSXR front ended K3 Sv650s I am very tempted to make the swap as there is a mint one in my local dealer.

Worst thought of buying a new type of bike, is never finding another forum full of helpful and knowledgable folk like you!

There may be a whole host of goodies in the 'for sale' soon, unless my sensible head takes over!

Loved the test ride on the Aprilla, what you view on the Aprilla guys??

Gmonsta has one, he's in Surrey. Lovely bike!!!

I dont think you are going to get many people talking ill of the Tuono on this site.

Mainly because it seems to be a decent bike, with tons of power, and savage looks. I have heard rumblings about Aprillia electrics, specifically the Mille. Its meant to be fairly refined, despite all the power, and it has really good stopping power.

I mean. Yeah. They are nice. And they are properly hooliganised right out of the box. I would imagine the likes of BigApe would spend most of the time riding around on the back wheel with a massive cheesey grin on their face.

Every time I look at the Tuono... I start to get that butterfly feeling, to the extent that I feel a bit sick. They look like bad bad bikes.

My only concern as I'm not a big naked bike man is the practical concern of having a small nose fairing rather than a larger SVs one and the resulting windblast, etc on longer runs

'Refined' as in completely mental  Buy it if you want one of these on yer mush   I had a demo for two hours and had to pull over half way through for a cup of tea cos I had arm pump 8)

dunno what the wind blast is like. Best bet to find out what going from an SV to a Tuono is like is to PM Gmonsta. Wind blast didn't seem to affect him on the way back from the AR06.

I don't like 'em. I mean, they're great, but I can't get past the face. I'm sure they have a lovely personality ;) I'd have a Mille or Falco like a shot though.

Its a love or hate look, I love it looks 100mph standing still and screams 'Oy, did you spill my pint'. Beats even a 916 in looks for me.

A Mille would be a great choice but am not after a fully faired bike, and a Falco would be a better comprimise with the half fairing for me and looks almost as good........... but I still love the Tuono, if only I can convince myself its practical enough!

They are nice, civilised Italian looking bikes.

The Tuono looks like its just spent the last while put away at Her Majesty's Leisure for aggravated assault, during which time it spent lifting wieghts, and getting into fights.
