i have got a micron hi level race system thanks to gavhogg very very greatful to him :D :D :D :lol: hope you got the wine:?: anyway back to my question
as i said i have a hi level race can but there is no markings on it apart from MICRON at the exhaust exit now my understanding is if it says "not for road use" or something like that it is illegal but this has none so will it pass a MOT? as it is up to testers decression for noise level as there is no noise limit or should i buy a universal baffle and would that do? or f**k it lets blast the neighbours up?

agreed, go out early hours in the morning and backfire it and redline it like theres no tomorrow sure way to upset the neighbours

Same thing.. no markings on it, but i would not leave it on for the MOT.. think i'd be paying for a re-test with the standard one on :lol:

I was under the impression that you need an e-mark or "Road Legal" stamped on the can to make it legal for road use. If it was just not having a NOT for road use on it, we could all just file them off...

No rules have changes about 2 years ago. For an MOT the e-mark is not required. However it must NOT be marked "not for road use" or similar.

You would get strange incidents where coppers would be looking for markings on non european imports that obviously did not require them etc.

I think the C&U regs however still requires an "E" mark. so if you get a rectification notice, you do nothing as the mot inspector simply stamps the notice as compliant with MOT requirements

Most MOT tasters take the view a loud can is an essential safety feature. The rules say something obscure like must not be any louder than an equivelent bike. But as this is subjective you put two bikes with loud cans side by side. Neither are louder than the other and both pass. The time will come when a metered noise reading must be taken with an MOT, but hopefully not for a long while

It's not 'Legal', as to be so requires either an 'E' mark or a 'BS' mark, but it is MOT-able.
