sv1000 exhaust on a sv650?
im trying to get the cheap option to do duals on my bike. will this work?
the sv1000 is just bored out more if im not mistaken? thanks! |
I doubt it will fit. If it will it might need a lot of modification. Which will probably be more expensive than just getting a pair of twin pipes designed to fit a 650.
I might be wrong but the 650 and 1000 are not the same engine. |
The thou has a TL engine which were around before the first SV650 came out. I doubt they are the same engine, but someone more into bikes can tell you.

The engines are completely different from the ground up. As stated the SV1000 uses a version of the TL1000 Engine from about '97, the SV650 engine appeared in '99 on the SV.
Edit: The diameter of all the pipework is different too /edit Several people do twin exhaust systems for the SV 650, personally while I like the looks I think they're a bit awkward, can cause issues with the chain clearence and don't add any more power, plus have a load of joins, any one of which will cause banging and popping if air is leaking from it. |

They aren't the same bike at all, apart from the name the 650 and the 1000 share nothing that matters - very little of either bike will fit the other.
