sv1000 exhaust on a sv650?
 
im trying to get the cheap option to do duals on my bike. will this work?

the sv1000 is just bored out more if im not mistaken?

I doubt it will fit. If it will it might need a lot of modification. Which will probably be more expensive than just getting a pair of twin pipes designed to fit a 650.

I might be wrong but the 650 and 1000 are not the same engine.

The thou has a TL engine which were around before the first SV650 came out. I doubt they are the same engine, but someone more into bikes can tell you.

The engines are completely different from the ground up. As stated the SV1000 uses a version of the TL1000 Engine from about '97, the SV650 engine appeared in '99 on the SV.

Edit: The diameter of all the pipework is different too /edit

Several people do twin exhaust systems for the SV 650, personally while I like the looks I think they're a bit awkward, can cause issues with the chain clearence and don't add any more power, plus have a load of joins, any one of which will cause banging and popping if air is leaking from it. :wink:

Then double the cost on after market cans as you have to get two!

They aren't the same bike at all, apart from the name the 650 and the 1000 share nothing that matters - very little of either bike will fit the other.
