Electrics on a 97 CG125
Well had the "new" bike out last night.
Seems I have an electrical problem. At low revs, the headlight seriously dims, and the rear light is all but off, the indicators either dont flash, or flash fast but dim. If I give it some throttle then everything falls into place - all lights work ok. My suspicion is the battery - could be a bit flat (the bike has sat around for a bit prior to me getting it - or could be dead. Any simple test I can do? - Should I just replace the battery anyway? Any other thoughts? David |
It almost certainly is the battery.
I ran a 92 CG for almost a year and never once bothered connecting the battery and the symptoms were pretty much identical. |

Might go at my lunch break so that I have lights for tomorrow night when I head over to Frith St (assuming its on) David |
Anyone got a Red battery cover panel for a CG125 floating around - will take any colour really - one on my bike is a cracks, cable-tie special :)

I've got a CG125-BR at home. I'll have the seat off & take a look when I get home tonight.
If I have, consider it yours (subject to P&P :D ) |
Aparently there are MANY variations on the CG (funny that) and I dont know exactly what model (yet)
Heres a pic of the offending part http://www.chaoscrypt.com/cg125/damaged_panel.jpg David |
our cg did the same as yours and carsick's and i did nowt, do you notice too that the neutral light doesnt evan come on unless the engine is running. the guy that mot'd the cg said "they all do that sir" :D
|
Have you tried winding it up?
*like a clock!* |

Neutral works with out engine running !!!!! But if you want head and tail lights, better give it a kick BTW anyone know of a bike parts place in West London I can get a battery from? David |
try giving the battery a good old charge, check there is enough fluid in there, and check the connectors are all clean.
could save you a tenner for the new battery. |
