Is riding a motorbike that dangerous...!?
I'm born and bred in England but have lived in Norway for the past 25 yrs. Norway is a nice country to live in with some good roads too, but theres one thing that gets my back up sometimes over here, and that is with some of the daft opinions of the Norwegians. The latest is about biking that has stirred an uproar among bikers.
Get this... A professor over here is trying to have biking totally banned. He said "Riding a motorbike sober is equal to driving a car while drunk (three pints)..." Can you believe this!? Makes you wanna move back to England.... |
over paid under worked knob end that what he is

Is it dangerous?Yes it is,but it's our choice. That choice is why my parents, grandparents and great grandparents spent the last century fighting wars. These safety fascists are an insult to our forbear's sacrifices, and the Norwegians of all people should know that.

riding a motorbike is as dangerous as you make it, no different than driving a car
|
It's as dangerous as you make it I guess but the risk is easily surpassed by the amount of complete liberation whilst riding for me.
IMHO, the biggest dangers to bikes are vehicles of the four wheeled variety (especially those with badges containing the letters B, M and W!). That coupled with the hazardous emissions cars produce compared with bikes, then my belief is that if anything should be considered being banned, it should be cars... |
The professor forgets that the main reason biking is dangerous is *because* of the people in cars.
Many of whom (particularly on a Friday or Saturday night) have indeed had 3 pints. |
