Underwater photography

Going on me hols on friday to Malta.
As usual I shall take my mask, snorkel and flippers (I know proper diving types call them "fins" but I call mine "flippers" )

Anyway this year I have also purchased a cheap underwater camera in case I see something really cool (last year I saw a nice octopus) I can get a snap of it for posterity.

Its only a cheapo point and click thing that takes 35mm film and has a flash.

I'ts so long since I've had a 35mm camera I'm not sure what film to put in it, I was thinking 400 ASA :?:

I suppose it depends on the light levels. You wont be going deep, and you wont be doing that much diving in the over cast days.

400 can be slightly grainy, and since you are underwater you will want to be up as close as possible to things, and again, you will be getting a fair bit of light into the camera. (Unless they are stingrays.)
I would be leaning more to 200. But, this is sort of guess work too.
Definately 100 for anything outside of the water, not indoors.
