just got her back from service
ok i just had my 1999 curvey serviced its got a K&N and remus can with baffles out (not had it put on a dyno yet to see if it needs up jetting). had the valve clearence's checked but were all within tolerence, so i think the engine noise i have (load ticking) must be related to the cam chain is the right?
All the usall has been done oil, plugs, k&n cleaned and oiled and had the carbs balanced. so any way at first the bike rode well nice and smooth but over the last couple of days there has been some problems, firstly its serging at slow constant speeds and then when i roll the throttle on and hit the power band there is a big serge before the power comes in. now i have read some past threds and noticed the serging at constant speed could be an air leak some were, so do any of you know where i should start looking for this. as to the other problem I have no idea what this could be so any help here would be great. |
Sounds to me as though the carbs need balancing...........

Take it back to whoever serviced it. Was fine before they got their paws on it wasn't it?

i had other problems before i got it serviced which have now been sorted but these problems where after the service yes.
mattsv the carbs were balanced during the serive mate. |

ok just been out and had a look round the bike im a bit concerend as the oil filter has not been changed i found damage to the fairing that was not there before the front ht cap is in exactly the same position as it was befor (it is not on compleatly straight) so i dont think they changed the plugs and i am starting to think they never balanced the carbs so i am now thinking that the only thing they done was put new oil in and they took nearly 200 quid off me

Sounds about right. That's why I do all my own servicing. At least I KNOW it's all been done.
The surging thing sounds a bit like the choke is stuck on. |
so how long for a new oil filter to look like its old then ?
