have you ever seen it when it is very busy? its a pain in the ass, cant walk past or thru the que as it takes up that much of path, it makes people walk on the road to avoid it. theres plenty more chippys in whitby too i have been once before and it wasnt anything to write home about

I ate in there last year and wasn't too impressed. There were long queues of coffin dodgers so we thought it must be good. I think most of the had been waiting since 1938...

When I went a couple of years ago, the fish'n'chips were amazingly good. I thought that it did actually live up to the hype. We did the sensible thing and booked a table inside, rather than queue outside.

I prefer 'Trenchers' up the road (on the corner, next to the train station) - I'm not a huge fan of most fish & chips, but this place is heavenly. Plenty of space for bike parking across the road as well.
