Is being baffle free bad for your engine?
Ahoy!
Without the baffle in you don't get any back-pressure, apparently. Would this stress be bad for the engine? Um, I was speaking to this bloke down the pub yesterday - obviously it'n not somethig that would have occured to me naturally. yarr! |
Without a can is bad for your engine unless its running super rich (what i have herd), the valves start to slam shut very hard and damages the valves & seats.
Even a can without the baffle has back presure. |
theres guys and gals done 1000's of miles on here with race cans on and no problems have been reported.

well, as I'm in the clear with the law and I do own that expansive private driveway....glad I used bathroom silicon sealant as opposed to exhaust sealant.
Good advice gained from the forum! |
Speakign to teh mechanics down t'bike shop & they reckon that for the daily London comute, leave the baffles in as you'll get better low end. Means little to me. But when you're off on a longer stint or popping over to France remove said baffle.
