AARGH! Email problems, and why I can't be trusted with PCs.
 

Sometimes my PC randomly resets my email server options to be my IP address instead of the incoming mail filter. No idea why... So this morning, when my email stopped working I assumed that'd be the problem. Spent about 15 minutes trying to remember the settings, failed. Went on the F9 website, had to log into the member centre. Forgotten my password. Ask for a reminder. "We've emailed you a reminder". How very helpful of you to email me a reminder of my email password.

Finally remember.guess it- get logged on. Find mail server details. Enter into Accounts in Outlook Express. Still doesn't work. Check spamkiller. Looks OK. Try again. Still doesn't work. Turn off spamkiller. Still doesn't work.

Look at F9 website again. "Our POP3 server is ****ed. Sorry about that." AIEEE! The killswitch is on and I've just spent 30 minutes checking ignition barrel contacts!

Sorry, had to vent that :)

Oh ****sticks. Now it's doing that thing where it downloads the million old emails as well as the new ones. And it's taking about a minute to pull down each mail. I'm going back to carrier pigeons. "Coo, coo, you have a new PM".

I dont know - modern technology - cant live with it cant live without it eh! :roll: :lol: :lol:

Didn't understand a word you said, that's one of the reasons i only use webmail for personal use - less likely to mess it up.
