K5 parts problems?

I have a K5 sv650s and I was interested to know whether anyone else has the same problem as me. :?

It seems that everywhere I go (especially to Suzuki themselves!) no-one does accessories for the K5 model!! This is extremely frustrating and I really don't fancy buying parts just to find out that they aren't compatible with my model!

I heard from one source that the reason for this is probably because the K6 model (that is usually listed) is exactly the same as the K5, and so all of the parts will fit for both. I also heard however, that this is wrong and that there are differences so some accessories may not fit.

Has anyone else experienced this and also can anyone give me a definitive answer on whether the accessories and parts for K5s and K6s are the same?

Cheers,

DD. :)

Got a K5, have fitted stuff like hugger, belly pan, etc with no sourcing problems.

What exactly are you after?

The only diffence between the K4,5 and 6 models is the paint code!

Hey thanks for the replies.

It was a fella in a dealer not too far away who told me that their might be differences between them, which is why I held it with a bit of regard. A little shocked to hear that he was talking out of his donkey!
I've mainly been looking at the bellypan and hugger but my question applied to all the parts really. It's been made even more confusing by the fact that the Suzuki website seems to list parts for the K4 and K6 but no K5. I'm guessing now that this has something to do with the colour rather than it not fiting correctly.

Thanks again for the help, I can now shop for accessories in comfort.

As Wadda says the paint codes are different, Be careful if you have a red bike. The K5 red and K6 red are different, but its a subtle difference and hard to spot until you get the parts on the bike. IIRC somebody on here has got caught out already with this.
