bike is dead!

washed it the other day, drove it back into the garage using the engine.. turned off!

came back, and now there's absolutely nothing - no power, no lights, no starter, nothing.. didn't do anything unusual during cleaning!

is this a common fault? i've got the battery on charge at the moment (so difficult to get it out from under the seat) but i fear it could be something else!

I had this with my SV, it blew the main 30amp fuse when I turned the ignition on to go for a ride one day...

Have you checked them ?

checked all the fuses, all fine. i think it's just a flat battery, i've had it on a fast charge for the last 1 hour, and it now powers the dash but not the starter motor (cranks once then dies)

probably left it on park in the garage :oops:

That happened to me once, it turns out I left the ignition on. I had to wait for my brother to come home so he could help me push the bike up driveway. I couldn't miss out on that ride I had planned! :D

If it jump starts my only word on warning would be that the speedo does not work properly until the battery has some decent charge in it.
