computer advice needed.
from a previous post you may have read that ive just put a new motherboard in my pc and ive found a problem :? my amd 2.8xp is only showing 1.24mhz?
now i aint got a manual with the motherboard cuz it was an OEM but is it something to do with setting on the board? me being a compleate turkey aint got a clue  |
Your new mother board should auto detect what proceser is plugged in, sometimes in the BIOS this feature can be turned off or turned to manual so the best thing is to boot the pc up and go into the BIOS and look to see if there is anything to do with the processor. Then try and google a manual.
Just make sure your 100% sure the motherboard you've bought supports the processor you have. HTH |
goto the motherboards website and look for the settings there, probably the front side bus set incorrectly,is there an auto setting in the bios?
|
only diff is its a 64bit board (gigabyte nvidia nforce2) says it supports all amd cpu's.
|
Well... as far as I know, on some mother boards at least, you have to set jumpers to tell it what clock speed your processors are running at.
Shrug. Did you get a manual thing with the board? Have a look and see if you notice something along those lines. |
no manual :? but the mobo has switchable settings. i'll have to get the model number off the board and download a manual.
|
whats the board could just be a bios setting for the front side bus speed making the chip down clock
|
in a hurry at the mo so if u need more details let me know
but go to the bios and choose load optimised defaults......if that doesn't work tell me which make and model mobo u got and i'll get back to u |
ok i'll try that.
|
