reputable garages in west yorks?

Anyone got any garages they recommend in the Leeds/Bradford area and any they would definitely steer clear of?

I know of Powersport bikes and Colin Appleyards for dedicated Suzuki expertise. There is also Dyrons and Carl Wards and Jordans bikes out near Ikea.

Having a 99 SVs with 28k, being new to motorbikes and finally having no tools and zero mechanical ability, I'll no doubt be passing some work to a garage sooner or later.

This might be a bit out of your way, and I'm not even sure if he caters for bikes. But there is a garage I used religiously when I was at college (didn't have a bike then :( )

Can't remember the name of the place, or even the owner atm, but he's on Huddersfield road as you come out of Ravensthope towards Huddersfield. Travelling that way, you'll go through the crossroads at Mirfield, then on the way out of Mirfield there is (or was) a caravan sales place - used to sell MGs back before they went the way of the dinosaurs. Not long after this theres a pub on the left (again, the name escapes me, possibly Black Bull) but its definately before the factory, sewage works & petrol station (junction by The Three Nuns). Turn left down the steep hill imedately after the pub, first left, and you're on his gravel drive.

Might be worth passing by some time as he's a damn good mechanic, and doesn't believe in labour charges above £20 regardless of how long the job takes (he makes his profit by a small markup on parts). Or at least, that's the way he did work. Maybe that was because he's an old friend of my dads, not sure though.

I'll give some of my family a shout see if they know of anything when I get the chance, but that'll be more Huddersfield/Dewsbury ish way.

Sorry my memory is fading, it's obvious signs that I need another road trip up that way!
