50p, are you having a laugh??
Pulled into a Garage that I use on the outside of London (Blackheath Common Esso Esso), needed some juice and thought i'd check the tyre pressures.
Ohhh, new machine, damn, coin slot, their gonna charge. Ahh thats ok, its only 10-20p....... Nope.. ASked the attendent how much, 50p. "are you having a laugh, 50p!!!! You are kidding yeah"?? Nope, 50p for air. Its been free for the last 7 years........ I wont be using that garage again then............... 50p indeed for about 1-3psi of air (all i need, tyres still feel ok). |

Be careful using garage air lines, the gauges can be wildly inacurate.
I am completely obssesed (read anal) with tyre pressures BTW :D |
Its a digital one, has been for years now.
No reasons for it. I can accept a small charge, hell you pay for everything these days, but to go from free to 50p, just for air is a joke. Its damn air, we already pay for water...... |

Esso and Total suck like that. Find a Shell station. They are normally free. I brought a key ring digital reader from Halfords which is handy checking first thing.

Buy a foot pump. £10 at all good motor accesory outlets.

It's their own trade that will suffer; when stopping to put air in my tyres, I usually think "may as well top up on fuel at the same time".
