any special tools needed for clutch investigation work?
 

Hello,

My friend is asking me if he'll need any special tools to help me look into my clutch problem. The suzuki service manual mentions Snap Ring Pliers for transmission stuff but nothing else unusual is mentioned. Are they the same as Circlip pliers and is there any other critical tool needed?

8mm socket for casing bolts
10mm socket for spring bolts (Preferably on a cordless screwdriver)

If you want to drop the basket out, then...

22mm socket (possibly 20mm, cant remember) block of wood to go through rear wheel when undoing above nut.

Thats about it.

For adjustment

10mm spanner
12mm spanner
Flat blade screw driver.

If you're talking about just looking at the clutch plates and stuff, there are no special tools needed. There is a snap ring on the gear atteached to the coolant thingy, but regular pliers will get that off/on. I'm talking from pointy experience but they should be pretty similar.

ooo, if its a curvey, then dont put it on a paddock stand. Leave it on the side stand and you wont have to drain the oil.
