Really really cheap and decent Jackets...

Maybe this should go in Gear... but that forum always seems really quiet.

Anyway, I have this Jacket,

Granted it might not be the coolest thing in the world, it does look better in the flesh though.
It is however, a very good jacket. It is completely water proof, warm, vented, removable liner, and reasonably armoured up. Its also just been reduced to $79, from $249.99.
For 79 dollars, you would can a lot worse. Seriously.
Anyway, they ship to the UK.

Just thought I would let you nice people know...

Is it breathable like Gortex or does it get all sweaty inside? I need a decent waterproof jacket for winter.

philipMac 27-09-06 10:02 PM

So, it is not breathable. But, even in NYC levels of heat I dont get any more sweaty than say if I was just wearing a T shirt.
Like, if its 40C, you are going to sweat no matter what.
Emm, it has vents in the back, and in the arms. When you open them, the jacket fills with air, and the vent system works. It doesnt get sweaty in the winter. Not that I have noticed anyway.

It is warm, and water proof though. I mean, I have gotten seriously ****ed on, and been dry. Decent armour. I am generally very happy with it as a day in day out jacket. The only thing I would say is it seems to fit big. I only wear a small, and I am six foot, with a reasonabley wide-ish set of shoulders.

The medium fit too, but, I wanted it snug.
Zips into your leathers too, if you have a short or a long zipper.
Top bananas for 79 bucks so it is.

That's a bit crap. I mailed them to make sure they ship to the UK. You would think that they would have mentioned that. :?

I dunno. Maybe you could email them and ask them what the story is... I dunno.

Sorry.
