Lots of clever people here...
Can someone explain the difference (if there is one) between HD Ready and HD Compatible LCD/plasma TV? A friend says that some tellys claiming to be HD are not HD at all :? |

Well having recently bought a dock-off telly.... HD compatible means it will accept a HD signal, but does NOT display a HD picture. You need a HD Ready TV for a HD picture.
Make sure that any TV you buy has enough digital inputs and that these are compatible with with existing or planned hardware. You need DVI or HDMI to get a full digital signal between hardware and that is needed for HD. SCART just does not do HD. Remember that HD on DVD is coming (well kinda here, but not a lot of choice yet) so you need extra digital input for that and your surround sound needs a digital input from DVD and HD TV reciving box to get the full effect..... |
Or, buy a non-HD TV with a good screen for half the price, then buy a HD TV in a couple of years once its stabilised and the prices are down?
