Latest Anti-Crime Idea *sigh*

Here's a novel Idea.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/liv...n_page_id=1770

Teenage burglars instead of being sent to jail are being made to paint posters of "Things they want to steal".

These are then posted around town to warn home owners what Items are at risk and should be hidden away from view in case a burglar strikes....

Here's a better idea...why don't you lock up the burglars you just caught instead of getting them to paint pictures about it and sending them back out with a freshly painted shopping list.....

Good grief.

If I had my way these people would be send down mine on minimum wage, 90% of it goes towards paying the victim costs+compensation, 10% goes into a small pot to give them something when they got out assuming they behaved ;)

Shoot them all. Not to death, neccesarily, perhaps theft under £1000 in a calendar year would be met with a soft tissue would in the thigh... ANd so on.

I agree with Ping - a spell of national service - not just languishing in prison picking up more ways of committing crime, but real good old fashioned square bashing - gives them all the respect for others and themselves that they will ever need - certainly seemed to work well in Bad Lads Army!

A childhood friend went to Borstal. came back never to re-offend. build his business , sold it last year to retire to Jersey at age 40. Others in the gang went on through the system because they were a few years younger and fodder for the social workers.

By going through the system, I mean supervision order, and another, then probation, then 6 months suspended and then 6 months plus the suspended.

Only then did they learn what should have been tought to them as a 14yr old instead of 22 and in the big boys house.

What was the phrase, "Tough on crime, and tough on the causes of crime". Bollox, soft on crime and we don't know the cause because the naughty boys won't tell us why they feel the need to be naughty.

A few of my familly are primary and lower school teachers and it's no better there.
If a kid steals something your not allowed to haul them up on it because you cant demand they turn out their pockets or bag and sure as hell can't do it yourself, thats against the rules.

Your not allowed to shout at them or be cruel in anyway, god forbid you manhandle or slap the kid thats jumping on his classmates head...you have to ask firmly for him to stop, pull him off and you'll be in hot water if the parents complain about you touching their kid......

My uncle was a policeman just after WW2... Quote "All the criminals were still criminals, but now they were disciplined, organised criminals who knew how to kill a man. Lucky so many never came back or we'd have been in real trouble" :)

Sure what can we expect when we let the extreme left govern us? You need a backbone to be tough on crime. Unfortunately, you don't need one to be a part of the Labour government. Hence nonsense schemes like these.
