Scottoiler has stopped working??
 

Hi Guys,

last weekend I noticed that my scottoiler feed line had been snapped, replaced the tubing yesterday, set to prime, started the bike and there was no feed.

Guy at work had a look and noticed that my breather tube was missing (I have never had one since I have owned it!) anyway have ordered a new part from scottoiler, but anyway, why is my scottoiler not feeding, vacuum line seems good, when engine starts the middle bit seems to lift which I think it is supposed to? how fast should I expect to see the liquid feed when set to prime?

If I remove the feed line the I get a drip every 20 seconds or so, but this is not enough pressure to get it down the feed line to my sprocket.

do I have to do anything unusual to get it all going again?

any help gratefully received.

Clean the little black bit that dispenses the oil. It can rub against the sprocket and seal itself. It could just be blocked, or have an air leak. Try primining it so that a fair bit of oil comes out(Teaspoon full should be enough.

They can stop working though, just never heard of one doing it. Rictus's one run for over 100k.

I have a dual injector, and I have tried priming without this connected so just new hose?

Thats the reason then ;) I would check the routing of the hose if its snapped. I would also remove the resivoir fromt he bike, but attached to the vaccum, and see if any oil comes from the end, just to make sure that its all working as it should.

yes I think it was the routing of the hose that made it snap originally.

I have used brand new hose, so shouldnt be an issue, I have just attached the vacuum to the reservoir and that is when I get the really slow drip on prime, I will have another look at it this lunchtime

Wheres your vaccum attached to? And is your resiviour Vertical or horizontal?

the vacuum is attached to one of the nipple at the top of the engine block, I checked to see it was still in place as that is what I thought was failing before I found the snapped delivery tubing.

vertical or horizontal, well its probably about 45 degress, but as I have said I have had this for about a year and this is the first poblem I have had with it

ok, so I have just been checking it again!

vacuum hose, all fine, sucking well

delivery tube, all fine, clear and no kinks

reservoir, looks fine, plenty of oil, nothing icky inside that could clog anything

put it all back together, start up the bike.....

BLOODY THING HAS STARTED WORKING!!!!
