Part Swap: K6 SV1000S & K6 SV650S

OK the insurance have given me £5,500 for the SV1000S and I've replaced it with an SV650S.

They've yet to collect the thou so I wanna know what bits I can borrow off it that are straight swaps for the 650 but perform better. I'm primarily thinking of the front brakes which perform so much better on the 1000 compared to the 650 but will consider other items also.

You'll need adaptor plates for the brakes. IIRC they are the same as non radial 4-pot Tokico that came from the pre radial GSXR 600 + 750's.

Air intake snorkel, from memory- might not actually be better but might sound better :) You could probably swap the whole front end fairly easily. But there's not an awful lot of crossover between the two bikes

How come you went for the sv650 rather than the thou as a replacement?

Because if he's quick he can swap the engines and front end, and only be one exhaust down.

Insurance co might be a bit peeved when they find out half their write off has gone missing.

What do they know?

Snorkel definately.

Probably more than you give them credit for.

Most of the insurance inspectors ive met have been car types who struggle to know one end of the bike from another
