Having watched the entire match - I have to say that Maclaren's decision to change to a 3-5-2 formation was not the best he's ever had !!

But, that doesn't excuse the woeful individual performances !!

The Croats thoroughly deserved the victory (even though the 2nd goal was just one of those unfortunate things that sometimes happens) - indeed England were lucky that it wasn't 3 or 4 !!

The first goal was just pitiful defending - 2 of the (supposedly) best defenders in the world beaten in the air & outclassed by a 5 ft Brazilian ??!! :shock:

However, one plus point - it did show what is wrong with the England midfield - his name is Frank Lampard - totally useless as an international player. Not just a case of not being able to play alongside Stevie G - he just can't turn it on for England.

I don't think Maclaren should face the chop just yet (even though I don't think he was the right man for the job in the first place) but he definately has one strike against him !!

I think Tuesday nights Under 17's would have done better. I don't understand why excellent club players just can't get it together when playing for England. Rooney is definately out of form, Crouch looked helpless, and Ferdinand was woeful... Bring back Sol !
