Moving the SV on the side stand!
 

i know you can move the sv on the side stand but dose it actuly do her anygood?

i think there is a product or soma whare u can move her ?? i have to move her 90 degrees about 3 times a week and dont really want to break her the side stand is a bit lose already! o and its up a lil curb too??! any other ideas??

Some people say its fine to do others say its not. I forever see machanics in shops repositioning bikes by spining them on the stand.

The argument is the side stand is there to support the bike and should take the weight. However it supports it with 2 wheels on the floor thus spreading the weight.

Spining on a stand shouldn't be a problem as I've done this plenty of times myself, but I don't think it was designed to do this regularly so wouldn't do it as often as your suggesting.

If your stands loose its likely to be one of the mounting bolts have losened, mine did and one fell out! So a quick nip up of the bolts should and it should be fine.

The easist soultion would be to park the bike so you don't have to spin it. Why are you needing to move it like this so frequently?

As for a tool I have seen some sort of garage mover thing (basicly a tray on wheels) but can't remeber what its called, try M&P online for an idea.

wel its just that when i park it to turn her round (so its easyer to get out ) i have to scrape er along the floor.... i dont take the wheals off the floor i jsut grab the back part of the subframe( bit u bungie stuff on to ) and drag her round... its pritty easy but i was jsut wondering i could leave her but shed be blockin the back garden path and id have to reverse her out of the garden which is a lot harder as she only jsut fits lol!

not cheap but very handy.

there are a few on the market to move her.

a small ball bearing thing that the back wheel sits on .. and the !easy parker" but thats about £100 !!!..
