exhaust can conversion kit?

I have jst bought a scorpion carbon fibre end can, with link pipe off ebay. Before I go ahead and fit it to my 2001 sv650s (otherwise known as pride and joy!) I have a few questions that I am sure you educated lot can help with!

1) I understand I need to cut the original exhaust to fit this, but can you buy a conversion kit for if you ever want to put the original back on?

2) Is it straight forward enough, or are there likely to be any running problems?

3) Is there any where you can buy baffles only from.......I have contacted a local scorpion dealer who thinks not but is this just a dealer answer! Surely people lose baffles!

4) Any other info you think may help would be much appreciated !

Thanks for reading.....

Yes. Usually jsut a bit of hollow pipe, slightly bigger than both exhaust and end can and allows them to be reconnected.

Straightforward enough, I've not had any running problems and msot people seem to be fine.

Err...did your can originally have a baffle? If so, I'd buy another scorpion off ebay with one in it, take the baffle and then sell on the other one as road legal but requiring a replacement baffle.

I've just bought 2 baffle's for my cans from the local bike shop.. tenner each. They were a universal fit type of thing with the BS No stamped on... not that they made it much quieter  good enough for pc plod tho 8)

If i buy a universal fitting baffle will it be easy to fiy to my scorpian??

You normaly only have to drill a hole in the tail pipe to fit one.. if its not got one that is. One bolt holds it in.

Just to let ya no. I have fitted the can, sounds excellent. Also bought a baffle which can be fitted (had to bend it slightly though!) and does quieten it, a little. Nearly wet my pants when I first went up the rode on the bike, love it! No running problems either, got a small piece of pipe for if I want to re-install the original, but cant see that happening! :)
