CCC Exhaust Insurance question, Is it a performance mod?

As per title really, as I got asked this for an insurance quote. I told them it was road legal and that (ie BSAU RL marked etc etc)

But, the previous owner had a rolling road thingy carried out on the bike along with a dynojet session (are they the same thing?! I honestly don't know!),primarily to get the Air/fuel ratio for the new can and larger jets he had fitted, but it clearly showed the peak horsepower of the bike to be at or slightly less than the manufacturers estimated claim off the production line. I have since fitted the next size down on the jets, to make it slightly leaner and not had it dyno-ed yet......

So, does anyone know the legalities associated with this sort of issue, is it not really an issue at all and am I worrying over nothing as per usaul?! I have declared an aftermarket mod to the bike, but tolsd them I honeslty don't know if it's performance enhancing, I just like the NOISE!!!!!

Thanks in advance guys!

I have a road legal CCC on my curvy - I don't believe it enhances the power of the bike.

Even if it did, if you had a smash, what's the likelihood that your insurance co would rebuild the bike and put it on a dyno?

the rolling road is a dyno - short for dynamometer - see here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamometer

dynojet are a company who make - amongst other things - jet kits

you will often dyno[mometer] a vehicle after making changes to the tune of the engine - be that via carbs, exhaust or other methods - to measure the change in performance usually in power/torque, but also by analyzingt he exhaust gases to see how the engine is burning the fuel-air mix - ie lean/rich

I stuck an SS CCC on my pointy, informed the insurance and there was no charge, they only said that if I had a clam it would be replaced by a stock system.

Which is more expensive, isn't it? Strange...

Carole Nash are great for mods- they insured mine at replacement value last year (ie, the price to replace all mods with equivalents) and this year, they've done the bike agreed value. Most places won't even quote for it any more

Thankfully i'm with Carole Nash at the moment, and from what you guys have said about your experiences, it should be ok!
