Rear Sub Frame
Hey all,
I wonder if you guys could give me some advice. I want to replace the rear sub frame on my SV (curvy) its fine at the moment but is looking a rusty in places and is the only thing on my bike that is showing signs of rust. How difficult is it to remove and replace it? Is there anything I should look out for when doing it? Cheers |
Why bother replacing it. Why not get it shot blasted and powder coated (or similar). Surely a lot cheaper.

Pretty easy... Getting the plastics off and on is the biggest hassle if you're not used to it I think... Finding all the screws can be difficult :) And you get left with a load of wires everywhere, so you need to remember where they all go. But is's simple enough apart from that... If you have a crack at it and find it goes wrong, I'll come over and mock you if you want.
Help you, I meant to say. But also mock you. |
Cheers Northy!
I dont have a garage so I couldnt really have the bike lying in bits for long outside my house, so powder coating is probably not an option. Hmm? Might go and purchase one. just had a PM from someone in Greenock :D |
Probably the easiest way that...

Get the new one powdercoated before you fit it
