BBC weather reports
Do any of you watch the weather reports on a regular basis to plan your biking around?
I check the BBC website all the time for the weather and I honestly think they are having a laugh. Today for example with kinross as the default town it's supposed to be clear with sunny spells according to the 24 hour summary. It's currently ****ing with rain. Every day this week the forecast has been the complete opposite of what they say on the website. Very annoying!!! |
I dont use the bbc website to plan biking as i know its pants!
I used to windsurf and still snowboard and there is plenty better sites out there! I use to start by using the met office site but since found out that too could be miles off! (and giving away FREE accurate weather forcats info would loose them a lot of money) I use there pressure charts to see what is moving about (highs & lows) and then use any one of the following to get a better idea: http://www.mwis.org.uk/ good for hillwalking http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/ http://www.metcheck.com/ good for snows :D probably the best me thinks http://www.xcweather.co.uk/ cool cause its updated with wind from all across the uk! not great for forcasts though |
Cheers dude.
Pressure charts - why didn't I think of that??? More annoyingly - the met office is based in Scotland!!!! So why can't they give us more accurate fecking forecasts??????   Farmingonline is very accurate but you have to pay apparently :( It's amazing the differences in forecasts between them all though. One saying one thing and the rest all different. www.weather.com - hilarious. It's to be 8 degrees and rain every day for the next 3000 years. Typical yanks! |
