Presuming everything has been done properly (sometimes it is really difficult to get a good bleed) indeed the only thing left in the system is the master cylinder!!!
Just to check it isn’t an airlock, try ‘reverse bleeding’ the system … this can be done with a syringe full of brake fluid on the bleed nipples. Another little trick is to pump the leaver until the pistons are virtually drooping out of the callipers (after removing callipers and pads obviously (and keeping and eye on the reservoir to prevent from going dry)) and then pushing them in, this then moves any air bubbles upwards and out through the reservoir … obviously it is easier to clear bubbles going up than down (as you would in normal bleeding). |
I have to go with air in the system assuming that the master cylinder seals are ok. Sometimes it can be useful to use the top banjo bolt attaching to the master cylinder as another bleed nipple, pumping the system up to pressure, holding the lever against the bar, and loosening, then tightening the banjo bolt, sometimes air stuck there just doesn't want to come out.

Cheers guys.
see this is why i love this site as youve all got the time and patience to suggest stuff and help me out. :D   |
I'd go with the syringe bleed as well, works a charm... Best way I've found so far in fact. Squirt, squirt, done.

Has it worked yet paws?
