If the original isn't a tight fit, be sure not to do up the cable tie super tight if you use that method. Not an issue on braided lines and probably not an issue on rubber brake lines either but I don't know if you could do it tight enough to be squeezing the brake line so effectively you are applying a braking force.
Just apply common sense if it is a rubber brake line and using the cable tie method, make sure that you can't see it visibly squeezing the brake line.
