Box fulla neutrals
Was pootling along the A12 this morning and the bike slipped into neutral and stayed there (while at a traffic light). After rolling it off the road and playing for a bit it got back into first and was OK from then on (although I didn't try putting it in neutral again).
It's not due a service yet so I guess my question is is it worth losing and little cash and taking it in now or does this sort of glitch often happen with the gearbox and is nothing to really worry about. |
Happens to me all the time, I also find false neutrals all over the place.
Could actually just be something as simple as checking the oil level (not too high or low), making sure chain tension is correct with no tight spots all the way round, etc. Sometimes I find I can't get it back into first once coming out of neutral, you stamp down on the pedal but it won't go. I find if you feed the clutch out a little bit, to effectively spin the gearbox only a little bit and as you do you can feel the gear dropping to place. |
