I-Pods
Whats peoples views on using an Ipod whilst riding? Does anyone do it? Do you think just using one earpiece is still dangerous ?
Interested to hear your views ! H |
Have a search, this came up a while ago.

iPods are the work of satan and should never be used.
Other, more open and less rights-robbing players are ok however :) Anyway in answer to your question. Use the search - this was discussed about a week ago. |

Have a friend that doesn't have access to a PC at the moment who I am going to be helping out with transferring some stuff to their Ipod.
So I installed ITunes on my laptop, what a carp pizza ship that is. Tried to take over my system for everything media related and keeps trying to phone home to apple. Not to mention the complete lock-in to Ipods if you buy anything from the Itunes store - decide you dont like the Ipod, or that the new Sony Ericsson phone is better for you and try moving your music - have fun. So no I dont like the DRM infested cack that is the IPod The things you do for mates eh. |

I've also never had any problems copying music from the ITunes library to my SE Walkman phone (which is cack BTW) although I don't use iTunes or the truly awful Sony Software (which makes iTunes look like the best piece of software ever written). I have an iPod Nano which is absolutely fantastic, horses for courses I guess. |
check out the next ipod!
http://techmanifesto.com/images/ipodAV/1.jpg i've got a sony too, and the units pretty good, software is ****. If it wasn't for the 10 minute battery life and 1 year lifespan of an ipod i'd have one. Itunes is brilliant if you like your podcasts! (check out nights with alice (cooper)) and the scroll wheel kicks ass if you've got more than 15gb of music. But listening when riding is fine for me, less so for popping in to town but on motorways its a godsend! |
Never had a problem with battery life on my Nano, took it on holiday this year to Malta.
Charged it before I went, listened to it on the plane going, had it on through some wee speakers in the hotel most evenings, listened to it all day on the beach a couple of days too. It just ran out of battery life just before we started final approach on the plane coming home. |
I've got an ipod shuffle at the moment, which is okay except does not seem to be good at
'shuffling' the tracks. If you put it on shuffle mode, it seems to be on a loop of the same tracks and certainly does not play all tracks equally, and some not at all. Has anyone else noticed this, not noticed, does not give a s**t? You get the drift. Perhaps it just has its own favourite tracks! Yes, I know this is somewhat off topic! |
