Guys,

Has anyone got any advice?

I am getting a new work blackberry which has bluetooth. I need to be able to talk when I am on the bike.

Do I have to get an Auto-com (or one of those attached to the bike) or does anyone know if they do a bluetooth headset/mic that fits in a helmet?

What do other people do?

If you go onto www.autocom.co.uk then onto brochures and products they actually list a blue tooth adaptor

You could always look into the BMW system 5 helmets 8)

good point although looking out of a helmet generally works better :lol:

Horrible things that because they are portable and push email to it they think that you should now be answering it, and emails 24/7

i had a throat mic a few years ago that was ace, it was a little thing that you pressed on your neck, and put earphones in, that plugged directly into my nokia phone, cost me a fiver,


it senses vibrations in your throat, similar to what the army use, to the person on the other end can only hear you, no background noise at all.

got it from the gadget shop a while ago, but its closed down now.

Yep- What he said. These people can't even speak to another in the same room these days. They'll walk past you five times and then leave a yellow sticky on your PC screen the minute your backs turned. ARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHH!

In theory any blue tooth headset should work as long as it fits your lid. I run a TomTom Rider GPS which picks up on the bluetooth of my Nokia (would work just as well on a Blackberry) and I can do voice calls as the TomTom comes with a headset and mic pickup. (If I wanted which I don't cause I like watching the road tbh). Very useful to pull over and not have to take your lid off though.
