At about 5kish ill get this rattle it’s like

1. A rattle snake
2 loads of stones flicking up onto the engine

Now presuming it’s the cam chain that’s came lose???? Is it???

You usually only hear the cam chain at idle and the noise goes away when you rev the bike it could be something else maybe a loose spark plug!!! I'm sure someone will be along soon with other ideas :?

On mine one of the cam chain tensioners failed and it was about £55 fitted!!

just murdered my engine ( too many wheelies, blown the crank) and got the tensioners with the new engine, both old ones work fine so if you're in need of one give me a bell.

I get this on my K5 at about 3kish and then it's only when the engine is warm or after a commute up to soho. mines due for a service anyway soon so i will check it then. but it's more like a rattle not the stone sound, coming from under the tank so think it is either front cylinder or something from the front.
