Ebay question

Hello all, hope you're not too cold and wet.

Got a question about ebay.

I'm trying to change my registered email address, which is fine, but it then says I have to register a credit or debit card. That would also be fine, except all my uk cards are registered at my swedish address, and the website wont let you select a country other than England.

Does anyone know if you're not allowed to buy stuff off english ebay if you're not in england?

I don't want to draw their attention to it if it means they'll close my account or something.

Any help appreciated, thanks!

Register the account to the foreign address but have a UK delivery address. There's nothing to stop you buying from other ebay sites and having them imported (or alternatively delivered).

To be honest, an email to them is probably the best thing - and they are not just going to close your account - they want transactions, so SHOULD do everything they can to help you.

It may only allow you to register on your local site, but you can definitely buy and sell on other sites. I regularly buy and sell in USA, Europe and very occasionally to Australia.

A similar thing happened to me when I changed my e:mail address and I think they only want your credit card details to verify your identity, just as a back up in case someone has possesion of your eBay password.

Gary.

PS lovely place Sweden, especially that large lake in Jonkoping :D

No no no, wrong end of the stick! I live in Sweden, so I need stuff delivered here, but the problem is I don't have a bank account registered to a UK address.

Yup, I quite see why they do it, problem is I can't enter the correct address for the card as it's not in the UK!

We live quite near Jönköping (I got a skandi keyboard!!), just by the 17th biggest lake in Sweden. That's 10 miles by 5!

if you sign up to the swedish ebay, with your swedish address, you'll be able to log on to the english one with no problems using your swedish account. :)
