MCN HPI checks
has anyone ever done one of these bike checks? i went to view a sv yesterday and wrote down the reg number the vin number and the engine number, they all matched the log book ok but i wanted to do an HPI all the same. when i got home and started entering the digits into the mcn site it said i needed its current milage, v5 serial number, v5 registration issue date and mot certificate number? do i really need all this info? i'm getting intouch with the seller as we speak to try and get the extra info. :?:

Have you looked a the 'check-a-bike' site?
'instigator' had some spare on here, Only a fiver and you get all the info!! PM him, I think he might have one more left... 8) |
phone em up instead. thats what i did, they only needed the reg, colour and bike.

This site gives you free HPI checks. Not sure how much info you need but is definitely worth trying before you pay the £30. Don't trust if 100% though as Ive heard of people getting clean bills of health on bikes they know were write-offs. Good to check though as if your bike does come up dirty, then at least you haven't wasted £30

Cheers giving it a try now.

does it really need all that info? why is it intrested in me? and my information may be directed to a non secure site?

i used the official hpi check site. It didn't require any of that information, just the reg no. They only ask for it so they can update their own information. I found out one bike i was looking at had loads of finance left on it - well worth it IMO

the official hpi check site diverts you to mcn's bike check.
